Restoring Hope, Transforming Lives

At Divine Hope Charity Foundation Inc., we believe that practical help, offered with compassion and respect, can make a meaningful difference during a difficult season of life. Our work in Maryland focuses on meeting everyday needs and helping people take their next steps toward stability, confidence, and connection. We serve individuals and families facing hardship, including people experiencing homelessness, children and young people in foster care, survivors of domestic abuse, older adults with limited support, widows and widowers, and others navigating a difficult transition.

We bring together donated goods, volunteers, community connections, and financial support to help where we can. The needs of each person are different, so we listen first and respond with dignity. Our programs are shaped by the resources available and the people and organizations willing to work alongside us.

Clothing, Shoes, and Seasonal Essentials

Access to clean, appropriate clothing can affect a person’s health, comfort, and confidence. Through donations of new and gently used items, we aim to provide everyday clothing, shoes, coats, and seasonal necessities to people in need. During colder months, warm jackets, sweaters, socks, shoes, and other winter items can make an immediate difference for people staying in shelters or facing financial hardship.

We also collect and distribute basic personal care items when available, including soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, shampoo, and menstrual products such as sanitary pads. We strive to offer items that are clean, useful, and appropriate for the person receiving them. Support may be provided directly or in coordination with shelters and other community organizations.

Support for Children
and Young People in Foster Care

Children entering or moving between foster homes may need everyday items on short notice. Divine Hope Charity Foundation seeks to help meet those needs with donated clothing, shoes, coats, toiletries, school supplies, and other age-appropriate essentials. We want young people to have items that fit, meet the season, and help them feel cared for during a time of change.

As this work grows, we hope to collaborate with foster families, agencies, and community partners to learn what is needed most. Donations and support will be guided by those needs, with care for each child’s privacy and dignity.

Confidence and Fresh Start Support

For a survivor of domestic abuse, someone returning to work, or a person rebuilding after a period of hardship, a fresh start often includes small but important practical steps. A suitable outfit for a job interview, help preparing a résumé, or a simple, professional hairstyle may help someone walk into a new opportunity with greater confidence.

Our Fresh Start support is intended to connect eligible individuals with donated interview clothing and shoes, basic grooming or hairstyling assistance when qualified volunteers are available, and practical preparation for interviews or the workplace. We aim to offer this support with sensitivity, without requiring anyone to share painful details of their experience publicly. We respect each person’s choices and pace as they rebuild.

Employment Readiness and Community Connections

Finding a job can be overwhelming when someone has limited access to technology, an employment gap, or no one to help them navigate the process. We aim to provide practical guidance with résumé preparation, job searches, online applications, interview preparation, and introductions to community resources or networking opportunities when available.

We also help people identify organizations and public programs that offer more specialized assistance, such as workforce training, housing support, counseling, or other services. Our role is to help people find a useful starting point, understand possible next steps, and connect with providers equipped to address their needs. The goal is to help each person move forward with more information, confidence, and support.

Care for Older Adults, Widows,
and Neighbors Facing Isolation

Some older adults and widows or widowers face hardship without nearby family or a strong support network. Others may have family but still struggle with the cost of basic necessities or feel isolated. We want them to know their community sees them.

Through donations and volunteer support, we seek to assist with clothing, personal care items, seasonal essentials, friendly outreach, and connections to local resources. We listen to what is most helpful and make referrals when needs call for assistance beyond what our foundation can provide. We welcome opportunities to work with community partners who already serve older adults and neighbors facing isolation.

Help Guided by Need
and Available Resources

Divine Hope Charity Foundation is building a community-centered approach to support in Maryland. Our assistance may include essential items, practical guidance, volunteer services, and referrals, depending on current donations, funding, staffing, and partner availability. We cannot promise a particular item or service in every situation, but we are committed to treating every request with care and respect.

We believe meaningful change often begins with someone asking, “What do you need right now?” Whether the answer is a warm coat, sanitary pads, clothing for an interview, help with a résumé, or a connection to the right organization, we want to help people take that next step.

Join Us in Restoring Hope

Our Maryland programs grow through community generosity. Individuals, businesses, salons, faith communities, and local organizations can help by donating new or gently used clothing and shoes, contributing unopened personal care products, volunteering skills and time, or providing financial support for needed supplies.

If you would like to request assistance, donate, volunteer, or explore a community partnership, please contact Divine Hope Charity Foundation Inc. Together, we can meet practical needs, restore confidence, and remind our neighbors that they do not have to face hardship alone.
